If you’ve not aware of the music of the Snarski Brothers hitherto then you are in for a treat. If you have, then some fond memories should come rushing back. Mark and Rob were born in London, to Polish refugee parents, and grew up on a 36 hectare farm on the outskirts of Perth, Western Australia. Their musical career began in 1983 with the band Chad’s Tree after which they took separate career paths - Mark with The Jackson Code and The Nearly Brothers as well as two solo albums ; Rob has toured the globe with The Blackeyed Susans and as a guest vocalist with The Triffids and The Go-Betweens, as well as an impressive set of solo albums, and a new band with Lindy Morrison. October 2024 sees the release of Waiting For The Bell, a new album recorded by the two brothers . It’s the first recording they’ve worked together since their days in Chad’s Tree. Once that is out I will be sharing it with you - in anticipation of that release and to get you warmed up I have selected some highlights from the brothers careers. In addition there is the usual featured albums plus a selection of new releases towards the end of the show.

At the heart of this edition there’s a focus on Steve Von Till’s Harvestman project and the final release in his ground-breaking Tryptich series. I have played a track from volume 2 previously so I have completed the set with a track from the first release and one from volume 3. All four tracks from a new project from the Dancehall/Afrobeats influenced EP by the Jamaican bass producer Max Rub-A-Dub from Switzerland liven things up. In between the usual favourites including two new ones from Metal Postcard and some heavier stuff to purge a few demons. Featuring music from

The disconnect between mainstream populism which infests the global music industry and the wide underground of music featured on this edition is perfectly captured. Towards the end of the show I feature something from the early 80s which exemplifies music written about local issues by a local band. The village that is featured in that track attracts a huge covers band festival every year which seems completely out of sync with what went on 40 odd years ago in that place. Is there any hope when the industry is continually dumbed down by focus on a handful of musicians? This show demonstrates that yes there is still a healthy scene out there, unfortunately it does not get the attention it deserves. Featuring music from:

This weeks batch of new releases include a more than usual amount of guitar music. With new albums from Mike Stern, Brad Shepik, Tim Brady, Eldritch Priest, and Peter Bernstein, plus two new singles from Ari Joshua, there are more than enough examples of guitar music to keep six-string fans engaged. In addition there is an excellent range of new releases featuring a variety of musical combinations and a previously unheard recording of the legendary Charlie Parker.
